Tentang Yayasan Buddha Tzu Chi Wiyata
The founder of the Tzu Chi Foundation is Master Cheng Yen, a Buddhist nun whose principles are cultivating kindness, compassion, joy and selfless giving. With His strong determination to free all living creatures from suffering, in 1966, He founded a charity organization to help all people as part of His great mission.
With the basic principles of sincerity, truth, faith and honesty, Master Cheng Yen began collecting charity funds. All funds from donors are used entirely for charitable missions. Buddhism's teachings serve as a guide for the way of life of Tzu Chi members. They apply the Dharma in their daily lives sincerely.
Over time, this charitable organization has become increasingly well known and the number of its members has increased significantly. They come from various backgrounds, such as middle class and professional society, as well as society in general. They know and are enthusiastic about helping Tzu Chi activities. Master Cheng Yen realized that those who are more fortunate financially need opportunities to donate and do charity work, while those who are less fortunate need financial assistance. Both need each other. With the principle of "Saving the world through compassion", He put this principle into concrete action, gathering people with sincere hearts and establishing an organization to cultivate their souls.
