Responsibilities:

  • Providing strong academic leadership and direction to ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning and student experience
  • Managing and mentoring a team of experienced academic staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the institution’s academic programs to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and relevance
  • Overseeing academic planning, budgeting and resource allocation to support the delivery of our design courses
  • Liaising with industry partners and external stakeholders to align our programmes with evolving market needs
  • Promoting the institute’s reputation through active participation in academic networks and school events including but not limited to high school education fairs and workshops
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant educational regulations and quality assurance standards
  • Delivering lessons as per assigned modules
  • Coordinating with accreditation bodies to maintain and achieve necessary accreditations, ensuring compliance with all academic standards and regulations
  • Scheduling faculty meetings, orientations, trainings and workshops
  • Liaising with industry and academic partners to develop opportunities for research, internships, and job placements for students
  • Spearheading initiatives to integrate technology and digital resources into the curriculum, enhancing teaching methods and student learning experiences

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in a design-related discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in senior academic leadership roles within the higher education sector
  • Proven track record of driving academic excellence and innovation in design and business education
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and people leadership skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to align academic programmes with industry requirements
  • Thorough understanding of higher education regulations, quality assurance and accreditation processes
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
