Responsibilities:

  • Implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with BAIS’s mission
  • Provide individual and group counseling services addressing social-emotional skills, peer relationships, conflict
    resolution, resilience, anxiety, and emotional regulation
  • Support behavioral growth and restorative practices rooted in Biblical principles of compassion, truth, and
    reconciliation
  • Collaborate with teachers to design behavior plans and interventions for students with additional needs
  • Assist students in setting academic goals and developing strong executive functioning skills
  • Analyze student data to identify trends, needs, and opportunities for additional support
  • Partner with teachers and the Student Support Department to monitor student progress and ensure appropriate
    interventions are in place
  • Integrate a Biblical worldview into counseling practices, pointing students toward truth, hope, and Christ-like
    character
  • Provide care and guidance that reflect the Gospel, supporting students through personal, family, or faith-related
    challenges
  • Partner with administrators to support crisis response, student safety, and overall school well-being
  • Facilitate workshops or classroom lessons on topics such as emotional regulation, healthy friendships, digital
    citizenship, growth mindset, and cultural empathy
  • Serve as a key member of the Field Leadership Team + when appropriate, supporting schoolwide community
    initiatives
  • Actively collaborate with parents to strengthen home–school communication and provide guidance on child
    development and student well-being
  • Maintain accurate documentation of counseling sessions, interventions, and student plans
  • Demonstrate strong confidentiality, ethical practice, and cultural competence
  • Engage regularly in professional development related to counseling, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention,
    SEL, and multicultural counseling
  • Support school events, spiritual retreats, and community-building activities as needed

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Current state/provincial counseling certification or ACSI certification in School Counseling
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of school-based counseling experience, preferably in an international or multicultural setting
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices, suicide prevention, SEL frameworks, and collaborative
    problem-solving
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrating a Biblical worldview into counseling practice
