Responsibilities:
1. Emotional Support and Counseling
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral difficulties.
Help students identify, understand, and manage their emotions effectively.
Offer short-term therapeutic interventions and refer students to external professionals when necessary.
2. Emotional Assessment and Case Management
Conduct observations, interviews, and emotional screenings to identify students in need of support.
Develop and maintain accurate and confidential case notes and counseling reports.
Monitor students’ emotional progress and follow up with appropriate support strategies.
3. Preventive and Developmental Programs
Design and implement school-wide emotional well-being initiatives (e.g., mindfulness sessions, stress management workshops, emotional awareness campaigns).
Promote emotional literacy and positive mental health practices across all grade levels.
Provide guidance on coping strategies, resilience, and conflict resolution.
4. Collaboration and Consultation
Work collaboratively with teachers, homeroom advisors, and school leaders to address students’ emotional needs in the classroom setting.
Communicate with parents or guardians (when appropriate) to discuss student concerns and progress while maintaining confidentiality.
Provide professional input and recommendations for student behavior interventions.
5. Crisis Intervention
Respond promptly and effectively to emotional crises or emergency situations (e.g., panic attacks, emotional breakdowns, or trauma-related incidents).
Ensure the safety and well-being of students in distress and coordinate with external support services if necessary.
6. Education and Awareness
Conduct training sessions and workshops for teachers and staff on recognizing and responding to signs of emotional distress among students.
Facilitate parent education sessions focused on emotional development and adolescent well-being.
Contribute to the development of school policies related to emotional and mental health support.

Historically, Bina Bangsa School was founded in 2001, intending to fulfil the aspirations of families who wished to give their children a national education with a global outlook. Henceforth, BBS came into existence – with an internationally recognised Cambridge programme - IGCSE and ‘A’ Levels Curricular. We have integrated our academic training with the teaching of the Christian faith as our central value system.
Bina Bangsa is also reputed for the Bilingual programme we provide, where our students are motivated to employ three different languages – English Language, Bahasa Indonesia, and Chinese Language to form a multilingual community.
