Responsibilities:
- Facilitate open communication and collaboration with teachers, administrators, and the Inclusion Support Team
- Support teachers to embed strands of mathematics into the UOI
- Support teachers to plan mathematics standalone units
- Participation in weekly collaborative year level meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement for both UOI and standalone mathematics sessions
- Model the use of a variety of written and mental strategies
- Model and promote best teaching practices
- Promote the improvement of students’ mathematics skills throughout the inquiry process
- Model differentiation practices to support individual student needs
- Identify personal learning needs by individual teachers and for the PYP and ensure all homeroom teachers are cognizant of our Fundamental Beliefs About Mathematics
- Provide regular individual and group mathematics training during non-contact times
- Develop a professional library for mathematics and make recommendations to the PYP coordinator regarding the expansion of the library
- Discover and share new approaches that promote relevant and authentic experiences in acquiring mathematics skills
- Provide regular workshops for parents on how to best support their children in mathematics; providing resources as required
- Attend regular professional development to keep current on best practice
- Inventory of the mathematical needs of the PYP School keeping informed the PLT and keep an accurate record of all equipment on the school google drive
- Contribute to the development of the school wide mathematics scope and sequence and follow the guidance of the school’s academic coordinators
- Responsible for all mathematical resources
- Ensure teachers are accountable for all mathematics instruction in particular
- Drop in to classrooms to observe and give feedback to teachers regarding mathematics lessons and where appropriate inform the PLT of any coaching requirements
- Provide support for students that have an identified mathematical learning needs e.g. dyscalculia
- Provide support for students across the school to improve mathematical skills
- Serves as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement
- Provide support for students that are more able mathematicians so that these students are challenged and able to meet their full potential
- Provide opportunities for more able students to enter appropriate local, national and international competitions to further extend their mathematics knowledge and skills
Requirements:
- All applicants must hold minimum an S1/Undergraduate qualification from Mathematics Department
- Excellent English skills
- A passion for teaching young children
- Engaging and inspiring
- Willingness to grow and develop to become an outstanding teacher

- Previous experience preferable
- 21st century teaching skills
