Overview
Responsibilities:
- Teach I Can Read Literacy Courses
- Work with children aged 2.5 to 18 years old
- Teach pre-reading skills to young learners using the I Can Read System
- Develop reading and comprehension skills through the I Can Read System
- Teach writing skills, including grammar, editing, and publishing
- Teach oral presentation and communication skills
- Help children develop positive social behaviors and classroom etiquette
- Conduct Assessments
- Administer initial assessments for all new students
- Regularly assess students’ progress during classes
- Monitor and evaluate individual student progress to ensure effective learning
- Communication
- Maintain regular, open communication with parents through informal and formal meetings, progress reports, and term updates
- Keep attendance logs for all classes and inform Centre Management when a student is ready for promotion
- Complete weekly updates in the parent communication book
- Attend regular team meetings with Centre Management and fellow teachers
- Contribute to Student Growth and Retention
- Help increase sign-ups through an effective and thorough assessment process
- Contribute to minimizing student withdrawals by providing engaging and effective teaching
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Teaching, Education, Early Childhood Studies, English, English Literature, or Linguistics
- Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken
- At least two years of related teaching experience or a similar role
- Passion for teaching young children and nurturing their development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with co-teachers and Centre Management
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and work ethic
- Willingness to be stationed in I Can Read Jogja
