Overview

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective Science lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE curriculum frameworks
  • To be responsible for the teaching of Science and Physics subject, including tracking and assessing students’ work
  • Highly motivated to serve children, can engage students in the teaching and learning process, and sets high standards for self and students
  • Preparing up-to-date teaching resources and instructional materials to increase students’ joy and effective engagement in their learning
  • Prepare students for IGCSE examinations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of interdisciplinary teaching and learning
  • Continuously monitor students’ progress and make necessary changes in teaching strategies and lesson plans to meet students’ needs
  • Collaborative and demonstrates independence and enthusiasm in sharing professional practices with colleagues
  • Understands, respects, and appreciates diverse cultures, and a sense of global stewardship and responsibility
  • Incorporate practical, experimental and project-based learning into lessons
  • Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure proper use of equipment and materials

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education or higher from an accredited institution
  • Bachelor degree in Science and Physics or a related science field
  • Minimum of 4 years teaching experience in an international school
  • Have a sound understanding of curricula such as IMYC and Cambridge/IGCSE and Indonesian Curriculum (e.g. Curriculum Merdeka) will be an advantage
  • Excellent English communication skill, both spoken and written
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Having in-depth knowledge of the subject
  • Has in-depth knowledge of the learners’ profile attributes and can support the students in developing desired skills aligned with them
  • Passionate about professional and personal growth to improve teaching practices
