Overview
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver English and/or Literature lessons for secondary students in a clear, engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable way
- Regularly create lesson plans aligned with Cambridge examination practices and the school’s internal calendar, ensuring that both lesson plans and long-term schemes of work are timely and comprehensive
- Organize the classroom and learning resources to ensure students feel motivated and engaged
- Collaborate with subject coordinators and colleagues to design and deliver a coherent curriculum that reflects IGCSE standards and transdisciplinary connections
- Prepare, mark, and provide assessments to support students’ development and academic achievement, and report students’ progress to the school, parents, and other stakeholders
- Supervise students during designated times, ensuring their safety and welfare, and support their physical, emotional, and mental well-being
- Prepare students for the IGCSE examinations
- Attend and participate in school events to better understand students’ interests and personalities outside the classroom, build strong relationships, and help strengthen their confidence while inspiring them to achieve high goals
Requirements:
- Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree (S1) from a reputable university in English Language or a related field
- Demonstrated fluency in spoken and written English
- Experience with the international curriculum (IGCSE) is required
- Strong classroom management and pedagogical skills for teaching secondary-school learners
- Computer and internet literate (MS Office, Google Suite)
- Open-minded and creative
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
