Established in 1994 by Pelita Harapan Foundation / Yayasan Pelita Harapan (YUPH), Universitas Pelita Harapan is committed to noble industry of education.

UPH Symbol

The UPH Symbol depicts an open Bible with an eagle, strengthened by its Biblical foundation, ready to soar into the air. A luminous ring encircles both the Bible and the eagle, bearing the words "Universitas Pelita Harapan".

The Bible symbolizes the new strength for which God's people are waiting.

They depend on God for that strength, much like a soaring eagle depends on the strength of thermal drafts. As the eagle awaits the updrafts, so those who wait on the Lord shall have their strength renewed; they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
