Overview
Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering Math lessons in class for secondary students, by instructing students in a clear, concise, meaningful and fun way, and regularly preparing lesson plans that are engaging and incorporate the curriculum
- Organizing the classroom and learning resources, ensuring the students feel motivated and engaged; establish and maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning
- Preparing, marking and providing assessments to facilitate positive students’ development and academic achievement
- Documenting, providing feedback and reporting student’s progress to the school, parents and other school stakeholders
- Preparing students to face the Cambridge International Examination
- Act as a role model by making the students feel supported and maintaining an approachable personality as a teacher
- Collaborate effectively with other teachers/staffs to ensure a consistent and holistic educational experience for students
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on educational best practices and curriculum innovation
- Participate in school events to better understand students’ interests and personalities outside the classroom, build strong relationships with them, and support the development of their self-confidence while inspiring them to achieve high goals
- Support the implementation of school-wide expectations as determined by School Leaders/Managements
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (S1) from a reputable university in Mathematics or a related field; a Master’s Degree is preferred
- Experience teaching international curricula such as Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level or the IB Curriculum will be an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Proficient in the use of technology for teaching and administration (MS Office, Google Workspace, and online learning platforms)
- Open-minded, creative, and reflective, with a willingness to continuously improve teaching practices
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Passionate about education and committed to supporting the academic and personal development of secondary students
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic school environment
