Overview
Responsibilities:
- Teach the IB Diploma Programme Biology curriculum, emphasising inquiry-based learning, experimental design, and critical thinking
- Deliver engaging and interdisciplinary MYP Sciences lessons that foster scientific curiosity and global awareness
- Prepare students for Internal and External Assessments, ensuring adherence to IB standards
- Design and develop units of inquiry for IB DP Biology and MYP Sciences, aligning with IB frameworks and school goals
- Map curriculum and integrate standards (NGSS) to ensure alignment and progression across grade levels
- Collaborate with colleagues to refine and enhance interdisciplinary curriculum connections
- Plan and facilitate laboratory experiments, ensuring safety and the effective use of resources
- Support students in developing experimental skills, including data collection, analysis, and scientific writing
- Mentor students undertaking Extended Essays in Biology, guiding their research and ensuring compliance with IB criteria
- Work with the Science Department to develop and align curricula across the MYP and DP programmes
- Participate in school-wide professional learning communities, IB workshops, and interdisciplinary planning initiatives
- Actively participate in school events, initiatives, and co-curricular activities to foster community engagement

About North Jakarta Intercultural School
NJIS was established in 1990 by Larry Bally and it was the first International school in Kelapa Gading. In 2010, NJIS was amalgamated by Agung Podomoro Group. NJIS is a school for students in Preschool (2 years old) through Grade 12. The school is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
