Overview

Responsibilities:

  • Be aligned with the values of SVP as espoused in the IB learner profile attributes and Champion values
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international curriculum school, in particular, he/she should be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Have a high level of understanding of current research as to how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best
  • Through differentiated instruction, and by using a variety of styles, be able to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
  • Be able to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters  that supports holistic approach to students welfare and is aligned with our Behaviour Management Policy
  • Be aware of the principles of Understanding by Design and Assessment for Learning
  • Implement IB Diploma and MYP policy and strategic plans
  • Liaise with the relevant coordinator/s team and the curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of the subject in both MYP and DP
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of assessment and reporting systems
  • Develop an integrated, inquiry-based programme with interdisciplinary links too the subjects
  • Expediently, giving explicit feedback and maintaining records of student’ progress and development within Managebac
  • Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge
  • Use technology to support learning especially through use of a Virtual Learning Environment
  • Developing and continuously updating a professional portfolio
  • Undergo regular observations and participating in lesson studies either within the same subject group or across the subject as part of continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Participate in and organizing programs, events and competitions related to their subjects
  • Participate in departmental meetings, conferences with parents and whole school training events
  • Liaise with other professionals, such as learning mentors, careers and guidance counselor
  • Advocate for student voice in all aspects of learning
  • Acknowledge and support the understanding that students are responsible for their own learning and behaviour

Requirements:

  • All applicants must hold minimum an S1/Undergraduate qualification from Physics Department
  • Excellent English skills
  • A passion for teaching young children
  • Engaging and inspiring
  • Willingness to grow and develop to become an outstanding teacher
  • Growth Mindset
  • Previous experience preferable
  • 21st century teaching skills
  • High level of technology skills
