About Xin Zhong School
Founded in 1934, Xin Zhong School was originally known as Sin Hwa High School, a Mandarin-language school for junior high and senior high schools. In 1966, Sin Hwa High School operations ceased due to the socio-political conditions of the time.
In 2000, a group of alumni who had maintained a close relationship since their time at Sin Hwa High School collaborated to form the "Sarana Hubungan Harmonis Sejahtera" (SHHS) Foundation. Their vision was to build an educational institution capable of producing national leaders and even future Asian leaders through high-quality education and passing on strong Mandarin values to the next generation. The SHHS Foundation was formed to realize their dream.
In July 2000, the SHHS Foundation also opened a Mandarin-language course at Plaza Surabaya, and in August 2001, a similar course opened at the Widya Kartika University building in Sutorejo. In 2004, the SHHS Foundation opened the Xin Zhong Playgroup and Kindergarten. In 2005, Xin Zhong Elementary School (SD) opened to the public as a national school enriched with an international curriculum and a Competency-Based Curriculum (KBK). To realize its vision and mission, Xin Zhong School also equips students with trilingual communication skills: Mandarin, English, and Indonesian.
